Client Objectives/Brief: Being a speculative fit out, the main objective was to create a leasable space that would attract a wide market. To ensure the fit out would be suitable to the wider market, the brief challenged Strutt to create a flexible layout that could easily be adapted to the functional requirements of any future potential tenant.
How were client objectives met/fulfilled? The client objectives were met by providing a layout that allows for several future modifications whilst still providing the necessary requirements. This means that should a client need additional workstations or an office, these could easily be incorporated into the fitout without trouble. The final result is a fit out that is contemporary with an open plan layout. The inclusion of a casual meeting area provides users with additional meeting space that could easily be relocated should there be the need for future growth. Being a speculative fit out, Strutt was challenged to create something cost effective yet still unique. The team explored new ways to treat existing materials and came up with the idea to pop circular cut-out holes into the ceiling tiles in the kitchen area to create an interesting ceiling feature. The circular forms tie in well with the dropped down circular bulkhead feature in the reception which was highlighted using a feature paint colour on the face of the bulkhead.
